On September 7th, 2020 we held our first live-talk regarding the 2020 Presidential elections. Our guest for this talk was Tyson Barker, who is the Deputy Director of the Aspen Institute Germany and frequent commentator in the US and international media. He is an expert on foreign and economic, as well as American and transatlantic policy. Some of his works have been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Foreign Affairs, and Spiegel amongst others. The digital conversation was moderated by DAIS Project Coordinator, Constantin Berlin and live-streamed via YouTube. Viewers were able to ask questions during the talk in our live-chat or via email.

Tyson Barker discussed the parties’ recent respective conventions, namely the RNC and DNC, the rhetorics and policies outlined there, and which influence the COVID-pandemic will have on the elections, among others.
