Film screening of »20 Days in Mariupol« in Leipzig
On June 6th, DAIS in collaboration with the Polnisches Institut Berlin Filiale Leipzig, and the US Consulate General Leipzig showed the Academy Award winning documentary »20 Days in Mariupol« at the Europäische Stiftung der Rahn Dittrich Group für Bildung und Kultur. Polnisches Institute’s Rainer Mende welcomed the guests, followed by introductory remarks by Ukrainian author Natalka Sniadanko and U.S. Consul General John R. Crosby, emphasizing the dire situation in Ukraine and the need for further support of Ukraine.
About 65 people attended the event, many of whom were Ukrainians now living in Leipzig. The event was very well received and due to the subject matter very emotional as well. As the credits rolled, almost everyone stayed in their seats to let everything sink in and take a deep breath. People then gathered in small groups to chat and network.
Thanks to the US Consulate General and the Polnisches Institut Leipzig for this meaningful cooperation. Thanks to the Europäische Stiftung der Rahn Dittrich Group für Bildung und Kultur for the venue.
