West Virginia, Mittweida, and DAIS

A group of West Virginians currently at Hochschule Mittweida visited DAIS this Summer to participate in a transatlantic dialogue on Eastern Germany and its similarities and differences with West Virginia. Together, we covered political, economic, and cultural issues. Students and experts shared their insights on living and learning in a more conservative and rural area where coal mines are a very prominent source of employment. This conversation was one of many more to come regarding regions that share similar challenges and how we can foster more exchange between them.
