The First Freiberg Futures Forum

Welcome to the 1. Freiberg Futures Forum! We’ve spent a wonderful weekend at TUBAF in the lovely Ore Mountains. With students & experts from Ghana, Iran, the US, Saxony, Thuringia, and Saxony-Anhalt, we discussed climate change from regional perspectives. In the coming weeks, we will write up theses that elaborate on our discussions and findings, and inform to policy makers in eastern Germany, the transatlantic space, and beyond. Stay tuned!

Let us share with you two take-aways already: to enact sustainable transformation, we’ve got to learn and research how to meet people where they are—offside overly polarized narratives and debates. We're also been thrilled to see how students from humanities and more STEM-related fields can exchange their sometimes very different perspectives so wonderfully. Thank you to everyone who supported and contributed to this, especially TUBAF’s Prof. Matschullat, Ingrid Lange, as well as Ohio University’s Prof. Geoffrey Dabelko.
