Apocalypse Now (1979)
The epic warm film follows Captain Willard through South Vietnam into Cambodia on a mission to assassinate the Special Forces Colonel Kurtz who sees himself as god. In retrospective it is seen as Francis Coppola’s masterpiece and one of the best film’s of the 20th Century.

This screening marks the second in the series New Hollywood: Dreams, Nightmares, and Revolution. The series is a collaboration between Leipzig University Library, the Institute for American Studies, and the German-American Institute Saxony.
