A German-American Garden at the Wilhelm-Ostwald-Gymnasium
On July 2, DAIS visited Leipzig’s Wilhelm-Ostwald-Gymnasium, where our Deputy Director Erica enjoyed a tour of the school and its beautiful grounds, joined the Hoffest celebrations, and met with 5th-grade students who created the newly completed German-American Garden.
A heartfelt thank you to Philip and Thaddeus for welcoming DAIS and showing us around your school. Special thanks to Rhiannon Wilkinson, whose vision and dedication—together with her students—brought this wonderful garden to life as a lasting symbol of German-American friendship.
The garden features plants native to both central Germany and the United States, including pollinator-friendly species that support the school's beekeeping project.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Wilhelm-Ostwald-Gymnasium and seeing this friendship continue to grow!
