From altered perceptions of American democracy to changes in how transatlantic connections are experienced on a day-to-day basis, this event will explore the social and societal dimensions of political change. Erica Larson Bautze will share her personal experience and reflections on how the election results have affected her work at the German-American Institute Saxony. Join us to dive into the lived experiences of navigating a new chapter in U.S.-European relations.

Erica Larson Bautze is Deputy Director at the German American Institute Saxony. She hails from the Midwest (born in Chicago, grew up in Northwestern Wisconsin) and came to Germany as a CBYX-er. Erica studied political science, American Studies, and education at Leipzig University and began her career by instructing at Leipzig University and German Telecom institutions of higher education. She started in the EducationUSA program at DAIS in 2019 and has since taken over directing educational programming.
