The annual Fulbright Welcome Meeting will be held in Leipzig this year; for the first time in eastern Germany.
As part of the Welcome Meeting, DAIS invites all Fulbright grantees and alumni in eastern Germany for a special session and informal get-together to discuss German-American relations in eastern Germany and to network.

Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia are among the most transformative areas in Europe. They have undergone rapid transformation during the last three decades. Many challenges have been shouldered by the region and its people. At the same time, the pains of transformation have resulted in wide-spread constituencies prone to illiberal messaging, disinformation campaigns, and anti-democratic tendencies. Yet the region can only benefit from increased exposure to global and transatlantic perspectives.
Through networking events like these, we seek to promote transatlantic values, and the open exchange of ideas, perspectives, and innovation in Eastern Germany.
