For this episode, I talked to writer and journalist Morgan Jerkins. She is the Senior Editor at ZORA and a Visiting Professor at Columbia University’s School of the Arts. At the time of recording, she was also the Picador Guest Professor for Literature at Leipzig University.

Morgan Jerkins’ most recent book is called This Will Be My Undoing. It is a collection of essays dealing with her experiences as an African American woman that include her commentary on pop culture, feminism, black history, misogyny, and racism. Her upcoming book Wandering in Strange Lands will be available in May 2020.

In the interview, we talk about her life in Germany and her mission as a writer and professor.
